Atlanta, GA – A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for north and central Georgia from 10 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, with wind chills plunging as low as 3°F in the mountains and the teens across central Georgia.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City, cities including Atlanta, Athens, Rome, and Macon will experience dangerously cold conditions overnight. Prolonged exposure could result in frostbite or hypothermia.

Residents should wear warm layers, cover exposed skin, and bring pets indoors. Officials also warn that freezing temperatures could lead to burst pipes, urging homeowners to take precautions.

Although temperatures will warm Friday afternoon, another round of cold air could return early next week.
