Charleston, SC – A frost advisory remains in effect for parts of southeast Georgia and South Carolina as temperatures are expected to dip as low as 33 degrees overnight. The advisory is in place from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. EST Friday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Charleston.

Affected areas in South Carolina include Allendale, Hampton, Inland Colleton, Dorchester, and Inland Berkeley counties, as well as cities such as Summerville, Moncks Corner, and Walterboro. In Georgia, Jenkins, Screven, Candler, Bulloch, Effingham, Tattnall, and Evans counties are under the advisory, with cities such as Statesboro, Rincon, and Millen also impacted.

The NWS warns that frost formation could damage sensitive outdoor vegetation. Residents are advised to cover or bring in delicate plants to prevent potential damage.

Meanwhile, in central and northern Georgia, a separate frost advisory has been issued from 11 p.m. Thursday until 9 a.m. EST Friday. This advisory affects multiple counties, including those in the Atlanta metro area, Macon, Athens, and as far south as Warner Robins and Dublin. Affected cities include Atlanta, Lawrenceville, Peachtree City, and Gainesville, among others.

In southeastern Georgia, Montgomery, Telfair, Wheeler, and Toombs counties—including Vidalia and Mount Vernon—are also under a frost advisory until 9 a.m. EST Friday.

Residents across the impacted regions are urged to take precautions, including covering plants and ensuring outdoor pets have adequate shelter. Warmer temperatures are expected later in the day Friday, reducing the frost risk.
