Georgetown, DE – An 18-year-old from Georgetown has been charged in connection with a November shooting that left a Sussex County residence damaged and two occupants shaken, according to Delaware State Police.

According to investigators, the shooting happened on November 19, 2025, around 5:20 p.m. on the 22000 block of Lewes Georgetown Highway. Troopers responded after homeowners reported that their residence had been struck by gunfire. Police say an unknown suspect allegedly fired several shots toward the home, where two adults were inside at the time. No injuries were reported, but multiple rounds hit the structure.

Through what police described as “investigative means,” detectives identified Jedidiah Dorman, 18, of Georgetown, as the individual allegedly responsible for firing the shots.

On December 1, 2025, Dorman reportedly turned himself in at Delaware State Police Troop 4, where he was formally charged and later arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2. He was released on a $15,000 unsecured bond, police said.

Dorman faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering First Degree (Felony) – 2 counts
  • Criminal Mischief Under $1000

The Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective H. Lingo at (302) 752-3798, send a private message to the Delaware State Police Facebook page, or reach out to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
