Davison, MI — Temporary I-69 ramp closures in Genesee County will begin March 30, affecting daytime travel.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), multiple ramps at Miller and Morrish roads will close to prepare for a $33.5 million bridge improvement project along the I-69 corridor.

MDOT said the Miller Road entrance ramp to westbound I-69, along with westbound Exit 129 to Miller Road, will close from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, March 30. March 31 is listed as a backup date in case of inclement weather. Additionally, eastbound I-69 Exit 128 to Morrish Road will close from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3.

Officials said the closures are required so crews can install rumble strips for upcoming work zones. The broader project includes repairing and improving 15 structures between I-75 and Morrish Road.

Once construction is underway, MDOT said eastbound I-69 traffic will be shifted onto the westbound side using a crossover configuration. During that phase, the left lane of westbound I-69 will carry eastbound traffic, and eastbound ramps at Miller Road will be closed.

Drivers should expect detours, lane shifts, and delays during work hours, particularly near exits 128 and 129.

The project is part of a long-term investment to improve roadway safety and infrastructure reliability across a key regional route.

This may impact students and workers commuting through the I-69 corridor during peak daytime hours.
