Gaylord, Mich. – Rain showers could dampen plans across northern Michigan Wednesday afternoon as unsettled weather lingers through the end of the week, bringing highs in the 60s and 70s and scattered storms into Friday.
According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, rain is expected to develop late Wednesday near Saginaw Bay and spread into northeastern Lower Michigan overnight. Tonight will remain mostly cloudy, with lows ranging from 44 to 55 degrees.
By Thursday, rain chances will taper off by midday, giving way to drier conditions. Temperatures will stay seasonable, with highs in the mid-60s to upper 70s across much of the region. Brief sunshine is possible later in the day.
Scattered showers may return Friday, but overall conditions are expected to trend drier and cooler heading into the weekend. Residents are advised to keep umbrellas handy, especially during afternoon commutes, and to monitor local alerts for any changes.
Cooler, calmer weather is expected to settle in by Saturday, with additional updates from the NWS anticipated later this week.
