Hanford, CA – A freeze warning remains in effect for the San Joaquin Valley until 9 a.m. Wednesday, with subfreezing temperatures as low as 29 degrees forecast. Residents are urged to protect plants, outdoor plumbing, and other vulnerable items from frost damage immediately.

According to the National Weather Service, widespread frost is expected again Thursday morning, with temperatures dipping into the mid-30s overnight. Clear skies will allow for daytime highs to reach 66 degrees Thursday and 65 degrees Friday, offering some relief. However, frost risks will persist during early mornings through the weekend.

By Saturday, the weather pattern shifts slightly, bringing a 30% chance of rain and potential thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Daytime highs will hover near 58 degrees, with calm winds turning southwest. Saturday night could see an additional 40% chance of showers, with temperatures falling to the upper 30s.

Sunday morning brings a brief respite with partly sunny skies and highs near 56 degrees. However, frost will likely return Sunday night as temperatures fall below freezing once more. The National Weather Service recommends residents monitor sensitive plants and exposed plumbing, as repeated frost events could cause significant damage.

Drivers in Hanford and surrounding areas should also take precautions, as frost on roadways may lead to slick conditions during early morning commutes, especially along Highways 198 and 43.

Residents should stay updated on weather alerts and prepare for fluctuating conditions by dressing in layers and securing outdoor items.
