Greenville, SC – Cold air is expected to settle over western North Carolina and the Upstate South Carolina region by midweek. Frost and a light freeze are likely Tuesday through Wednesday nights, particularly in mountain valleys.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), frost may affect the North Carolina mountains, foothills, and the Northwest Piedmont. Frost advisories could extend into northeast Georgia and parts of Upstate South Carolina.
Residents are urged to cover sensitive plants and prepare for freezing temperatures. The NWS advises that the coldest air of the season so far will move in Tuesday night, with spotter activation not expected at this time.
