Wilmington, NC – A frost advisory has been issued for portions of southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 36 degrees early Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service announced the advisory Saturday afternoon, warning that frost formation is likely between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. Sunday. Affected areas include Robeson, Bladen, Columbus, Pender, New Hanover, Brunswick, Dillon, Florence, Marion, Williamsburg, Georgetown, and Horry counties.
According to the advisory, frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor plants if they are not adequately protected. Residents are urged to cover vulnerable vegetation or move plants indoors to prevent harm.
Temperatures are forecast to rebound after sunrise, reducing frost risks. This advisory is especially significant for gardeners and farmers preparing for the Thanksgiving week.
