Charleston, SC – Residents across portions of southeast Georgia and South Carolina are being urged to prepare for cold temperatures overnight, with the National Weather Service issuing a Frost Advisory from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday.
The advisory warns of temperatures dropping as low as 34 degrees, creating conditions conducive to frost formation. Impacted areas include cities such as Statesboro, Hinesville, Summerville, and Walterboro.
According to the National Weather Service, frost poses a risk to sensitive outdoor vegetation, which could be damaged or killed if not adequately protected. Residents are advised to cover plants or bring them indoors to prevent frost damage.
Temperatures are expected to climb again after 8 a.m., alleviating the risk. However, precautions should be taken tonight to mitigate potential harm to gardens or crops.
