San Francisco, CA – A frost advisory is in effect for parts of the San Francisco Bay Area and Monterey County early Friday, with temperatures expected to dip between 32 and 36 degrees in some inland valleys.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers interior Monterey County, the Santa Lucia Range, the inland valleys of the North Bay and San Benito County, as well as the East Bay and eastern Santa Clara Hills. Higher elevations may experience even colder temperatures, dropping as low as 28 degrees.

The advisory is set to remain in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday. Residents are urged to take precautions to protect sensitive plants, pets, and outdoor plumbing from the cold. Officials warn that prolonged exposure to chilly conditions over several days can have cumulative effects on both people and animals.

Drivers should be cautious of potentially slick road conditions due to frost accumulation. The cold snap follows a recent pattern of fluctuating temperatures in the region, with overnight lows significantly colder than daytime highs.
