Raleigh, NC – The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a Frost Advisory for central North Carolina from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday, November 2.
Forecasters warn that temperatures in the mid-30s may lead to widespread frost formation, particularly in rural and low-lying areas across the region. The advisory includes a broad area covering Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Fayetteville, Winston-Salem, Goldsboro, and surrounding counties.
According to the NWS, frost could harm or kill sensitive outdoor plants and vegetation if left uncovered overnight. Residents are urged to bring plants indoors or cover them before temperatures drop late Saturday night.
Frost is expected to be less likely within the urban centers of the Triad and Triangle, where heat from pavement and buildings may keep readings slightly warmer.
Sunday will start cold but turn sunny, with afternoon highs in the low to mid-50s. Another round of near-freezing temperatures could return early Monday morning as high pressure remains over the Carolinas.
Residents should monitor updated forecasts from the National Weather Service Raleigh and prepare accordingly for the first significant frost of the season.
