Tallahassee, FL – A cold front sweeping through the Florida Panhandle on Friday will bring up to 1 inch of rain and gusty winds. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee has issued warnings for hazardous marine conditions and minor coastal flooding.

According to the NWS, rain chances increase Friday afternoon, with breezy conditions persisting into the evening. Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected in coastal areas and marine zones. The advisory also warns of minor beach erosion and isolated flooding, particularly in low-lying areas.

The strongest winds will impact areas along the Gulf Coast, including Panama City, Apalachicola, and Saint Marks. Inland regions such as Albany and Bainbridge in southwest Georgia may also experience gusts of 25 to 30 mph.

Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel along coastal roads and secure outdoor items. Boaters and mariners are urged to exercise caution due to choppy seas and strong winds. The wind advisory is expected to remain in effect until late Friday evening, with conditions improving early Saturday.

While freezing rain and sleet are unlikely, forecasters note a slim chance of light wintry precipitation in extreme northern portions of the region. However, any such activity is expected to have no measurable impact.
