Reno, NV – A freezing fog advisory will create hazardous conditions across northern Nevada tonight, with visibility dropping below ¼ mile along US-395 and Highway 447. Drivers are urged to slow down and exercise caution, especially during early morning hours.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory begins at 7 p.m. Friday and remains in effect until 10 a.m. Saturday. The fog will heavily impact the Honey Lake Valley from the Nevada-California border to Susanville and along Highways 36 and 44 near Susanville. In Nevada, Highway 447 from Wadsworth to Gerlach, including Pyramid Lake, is also affected.
Low visibility and icy roads are expected, particularly during the morning commute. Motorists are advised to turn on headlights, maintain safe distances, and reduce speed when navigating affected areas.
Forecasters warn freezing fog may persist in localized areas through Saturday evening, extending travel risks.
