Fort Wayne, IN – A freeze warning is in effect this morning across portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio, with temperatures expected to fall as low as 30 degrees. The National Weather Service warns that frost and freeze conditions could threaten crops, sensitive vegetation, and outdoor plumbing.

Communities impacted by the warning include Elkhart and Fort Wayne in Indiana, St. Joseph and Coldwater in Michigan, and Defiance and Van Wert in Ohio. Residents are encouraged to take precautions to protect plants by covering them or bringing them indoors. Additionally, unprotected pipes should be wrapped or drained to prevent freezing.

The freeze warning remains in place until 9 a.m. EDT (8 a.m. CDT) today. With colder weather becoming more common, residents in these areas should stay alert for further updates and take measures to safeguard plants and plumbing throughout the fall season.
