Shreveport, Louisiana – A passing cold front is delivering a cooler, more comfortable feel across northwest Louisiana this weekend, offering a brief break from recent warmth before temperatures rebound heading into next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the front is moving through the Four-State region this morning, ushering in lower humidity and cooler daytime highs through the weekend. Afternoon temperatures are expected to top out mainly in the upper 50s to mid-60s Saturday, with cool overnight lows settling into the 50s across much of the area.

Conditions remain quiet and dry through Sunday, making for favorable travel and outdoor plans from Shreveport and Texarkana to El Dorado, Monroe, and Natchitoches. The cooler air will be short-lived, however, as the front is expected to stall and lift back north early next week, allowing warmer air to return quickly.

By early next week, highs are projected to climb back into the 70s across much of northern Louisiana and southern Arkansas, with some locations approaching the upper 70s to near 80 by midweek. The warming trend will be widespread, affecting cities along I-20 and extending south toward central Louisiana.

No hazardous weather is expected during this period, but residents should be prepared for noticeable temperature swings over the next several days. Additional updates will be issued if the timing or strength of next week’s warm-up changes.
