Melbourne, FL – Drivers along I-95 and residents across Brevard County should prepare for dense morning fog early this week, impacting visibility during commutes. After the fog clears, warmer-than-average temperatures and mostly sunny skies are forecast to dominate, giving Central Florida a spring-like feel heading into New Year’s.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, patchy fog is expected to develop early Tuesday, reducing visibility to under a mile until around 10 a.m. Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 70s, with light west winds becoming eastward. Coastal residents should remain cautious of moderate rip currents along beaches, particularly during low tide hours.

Tuesday night will bring partly cloudy skies with lows dipping to 63 degrees. Sunshine will dominate on New Year’s Day, offering clear conditions for holiday events, with highs around 71 degrees and light breezes from the northwest.

Looking ahead to midweek, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to feature partly cloudy skies with cooler mornings in the mid-50s. Afternoon highs will reach near 70 degrees, providing pleasant outdoor conditions for those enjoying winter break activities.

Beachgoers and boaters should be aware of isolated showers offshore but can expect calm seas overall. As always, exercise caution in foggy areas by using low beams and reducing speed.
