Miami, Florida – Warm, sunny days are on tap for Miami through Thursday—but rising humidity and a surge of thunderstorms are set to shake up spring plans by Friday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Miami, high pressure will dominate much of South Florida’s weather through Thursday, bringing sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s. But by Friday after 2 p.m., a new round of scattered thunderstorms is expected to move in from the west, bringing localized downpours and possible lightning, especially near the I-95 corridor.
Drivers should plan around potential delays and brief road flooding from Friday through the weekend. Outdoor events on Friday afternoon and Saturday may face interruptions. Thunderstorms could also impact power for some neighborhoods, particularly in low-lying or inland areas. Miami-Dade and Broward counties should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions, especially late Friday and into Saturday night.
Looking ahead, the weekend remains unsettled. The National Weather Service is calling for a 40% to 50% chance of showers and storms Saturday and Sunday, with continued warm temperatures near 83°F. Monday brings the strongest chance of rain at 70%, with a chance of thunderstorms through Monday night.
