Miami, FL – A round of thunderstorms could return to South Florida on Tuesday afternoon as a weak boundary pushes east, raising the potential for heavy rain and gusty winds across the region.

According to the National Weather Service Miami, conditions on March 25 will favor storm development after 1 p.m., especially along the eastern half of the state. Forecast highs in the upper 80s, combined with sea-breeze circulations and increasing atmospheric instability, may support isolated to strong storm activity.

Weather models suggest isolated rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches, though most areas may receive less depending on storm movement. The threat zone includes cities like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Homestead.

While a general thunderstorm risk covers the region, cold temperatures aloft and sufficient surface heating may produce isolated strong to marginally severe storms. Hail and strong winds are possible if any robust cells develop.

Residents are urged to monitor local alerts, secure outdoor items, and avoid flooded roadways during peak storm hours Tuesday afternoon into the evening. Commuters and school districts should remain weather-aware, as brief heavy downpours may cause travel delays.

More updates are expected as forecast models refine Tuesday’s storm potential.
