Florida – Waves are rolling in with more force along Miami Beach this morning, and red flags are flying as a high rip current risk continues. The water may look inviting under partly sunny skies, but the danger is real. Even strong swimmers can be pulled away from shore in seconds.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, a High Rip Current Risk remains in effect through Friday evening for coastal Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Dangerous rip currents are expected along Atlantic-facing beaches. Officials urge swimmers to stay near lifeguards and avoid entering rough surf alone.

Temperatures are already mild, sitting in the mid-70s, and highs reach near 79 today with mostly sunny skies. A light east wind around 15 mph will keep the breeze steady along the coast. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible late in the day, but widespread rain is not expected.

Thursday pushes highs near 80 with a slight chance of showers. Friday holds near 79 with another chance for brief afternoon storms. Despite passing clouds, the bigger story remains the surf hazard.

Saturday and Sunday stay warm, with highs around 79 to 80 degrees and isolated showers. Early next week continues the spring warmth pattern, with temperatures near 80 each afternoon.

Clocks spring ahead at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8. Longer daylight and warming temperatures mean more beachgoers, so water safety is critical.
