Melbourne, FL – East Central Florida residents are bracing for another stretch of seasonably hot and humid conditions as high pressure brings elevated temperatures and heat indexes to the region this week.

According to the US National Weather Service Melbourne, Florida, the latest forecast, updated Saturday, July 6, 2025, calls for heat index values reaching as high as 104°F in several locations, including Greater Orlando, Melbourne, Vero Beach, and Fort Pierce. The National Weather Service cautions that typical summertime heat and humidity will persist through the work week, with heat index values in many areas hovering near or above 100°F daily.

Forecast data indicates the following peak heat index values for the week:

  • Greater Orlando: 102°F to 101°F through Thursday
  • Melbourne: 103°F on Sunday, remaining in the high 90s to 100°F through Thursday
  • Daytona Beach: Up to 100°F
  • Vero Beach and Fort Pierce: 104°F and 102°F on Sunday, with temperatures staying near 100°F
  • Stuart: 104°F Sunday, upper 90s through Thursday

The National Weather Service advises residents to hydrate regularly, wear lightweight and light-colored clothing, and take frequent breaks in air conditioning or the shade. Outdoor activities should be shifted to earlier or later in the day, ideally between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., to minimize exposure to the hottest conditions.
