Jacksonville, FL – A frost advisory has been issued for several counties in northeastern Florida, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 32°F overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, the advisory remains in effect from midnight Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday. The affected areas include Baker, Inland Nassau, Eastern Hamilton, Northern Columbia, Southeastern Columbia, Southwestern Columbia, Suwannee, Union, and Western Hamilton counties.

Residents are advised to take precautions to protect sensitive plants, as frost could cause damage or kill exposed vegetation. Bringing potted plants indoors or covering outdoor plants with blankets can help prevent frost damage.

While freezing temperatures are not uncommon in this region during winter, this advisory serves as a reminder to stay prepared for sudden cold snaps. Motorists should also be cautious of possible frost on bridges and overpasses early Saturday morning.
