Florida – 3:00 a.m. Friday – A tornado watch remains in effect for Florida early Friday morning as Hurricane Helene’s outer bands continue to impact the region. The watch, issued by the National Weather Service, extends until 6:00 a.m. Several tornadoes have already been reported overnight, with more expected before dawn.
According to the NWS Storm Prediction Center, supercells are moving along the coast, bringing strong winds and the potential for further tornado activity. Areas from Avon Park to the Florida-Georgia border remain under threat, with gusts reaching 60 knots.
Residents are advised to stay alert and continue monitoring weather updates. If a tornado warning is issued, seek shelter immediately. The risk of severe thunderstorms will persist until the early morning hours, with southern Georgia also facing similar conditions.
