Miami, FL – Spring officially begins Thursday, and Miami is already seeing warm temperatures with breezy conditions expected throughout the week. However, the National Weather Service has issued a high rip current risk for coastal areas, including Miami-Dade and Broward counties, through Wednesday evening. Beachgoers should exercise caution, as strong currents could pull even experienced swimmers into deeper waters.

According to the National Weather Service Miami, Wednesday’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 77°F, with northeast winds shifting from 6 to 8 mph by the afternoon. Overnight temperatures will drop to 66°F under clear skies. By Thursday, highs will reach 82°F, with light winds making for pleasant conditions inland, while coastal areas remain at risk for strong currents.

The rip current advisory warns swimmers to stay near lifeguard-protected areas and avoid venturing too far from shore. If caught in a rip current, officials advise staying calm, floating, and swimming parallel to the shore to escape.

Five-Day Forecast for Miami:

• Thursday: Sunny, high of 82°F, low of 61°F.

• Friday: Mostly sunny, high of 72°F, low of 66°F.

• Saturday: Partly cloudy, high near 77°F.

• Sunday: Mostly sunny, high near 79°F.

• Monday: 30% chance of showers, high near 80°F.

Warmer days are ahead as South Florida eases into spring, but beach safety remains a top priority.
