Orlando, FL – Strong thunderstorms and dangerous rip currents are set to impact Central Florida, including the Orlando metro, through Monday evening as spring weather intensifies across the region. Residents and visitors should prepare for heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and potentially hazardous surf conditions along Atlantic beaches.
According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, showers and thunderstorms will increase after 2 p.m. Monday, bringing rainfall totals near one inch with localized flooding possible. Lightning, brief strong wind gusts, and ponding on roads are likely, especially along I-4 through Orlando during peak travel hours.
A high rip current risk continues through Monday at all central Florida Atlantic beaches, including Volusia and Brevard counties. Swimmers are urged to stay out of the water due to life-threatening surf and current conditions.
Marine conditions remain rough. Small craft should use caution in the Gulf Stream with southeasterly winds reaching 20 knots and seas up to 5 feet.

- Wednesday: Sunny, breezy, high near 89°F
- Thursday – Friday: Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s
