Tallahassee, FL – Daily rounds of showers and storms are expected to drench the Florida Panhandle and parts of South Georgia through early next week, with some areas facing a growing risk of flash flooding.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, widespread rainfall totals between 1 to 3 inches are forecast through next Wednesday, with isolated pockets seeing up to 4 to 6 inches. Deep tropical moisture is fueling the wet pattern, particularly during afternoon and evening hours.

Cities like Tallahassee, Perry, Valdosta, and Apalachicola can expect a 70–80% chance of rain each day through Monday. Storms could become heavy at times, with localized flooding possible, especially in low-lying or poorly drained areas. Blountstown, Marianna, and DeFuniak Springs are also in the high-impact zone, with daily downpours expected.

Drivers should plan for slower commutes, especially during peak storm hours. Residents are urged to keep electronics charged, avoid flooded roadways, and prepare backup plans for outdoor activities. “When thunder roars, go indoors,” the NWS advised.

This stormy pattern will persist into early next week, with rain chances tapering slightly by Tuesday. Additional alerts may be issued if rainfall totals trend higher.
