Southern Florida – Residents of southern Florida should prepare for a rainy start to the week, as the National Weather Service forecasts high chances of rain and thunderstorms throughout the region on Monday.

According to the US National Weather Service Miami, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening, prompted by a weak tropical wave passing near the area. With an 80% chance of rain in cities such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach, the region will experience cooler temperatures, offering a brief respite from the recent excessive heat.

Temperatures on Monday will range from highs of 88 degrees in Flamingo to 91 degrees in Immokalee. Most areas, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Naples, will see temperatures around 89 degrees. Despite the rainy conditions, this weather pattern will provide relief from the heatwave that has been affecting southern Florida.

Looking ahead, the forecast for the rest of the week shows improving weather conditions. By Tuesday, the chance of rain will decrease to 40%, with temperatures reaching up to 92 degrees. From Wednesday onwards, sunny skies are expected to prevail, with daily highs consistently around 91 to 92 degrees through the weekend. The region can anticipate clear and dry conditions, providing an opportunity for outdoor activities.
