Melbourne, FL – A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for East Central Florida through 8 a.m. Friday, causing hazardous driving conditions along I-95 and major roadways. Visibility may drop to a quarter mile or less, especially in Brevard, Volusia, and Seminole counties.

According to the National Weather Service, drivers should reduce speeds, use low-beam headlights, and increase following distances to stay safe in these conditions. Areas near waterways and low-lying roads are particularly prone to poor visibility. The advisory also extends to nearshore waters, impacting morning commutes and marine travel alike.

Weekend Forecast

After the fog dissipates by midmorning Friday, East Central Florida can expect sunny skies and a high near 76°F. Friday night brings cooler temperatures, dipping to 48°F with clear conditions.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 64°F, although gusty northwest winds up to 20 mph could affect outdoor plans. By Sunday, a slight chance of afternoon showers will develop, accompanied by highs near 70°F. The cool front is expected to linger, with Sunday night lows dropping to 59°F.

Coastal Hazards Persist

Beachgoers should remain cautious as strong rip currents are forecast along the Atlantic coast through Sunday. Swimming is strongly discouraged, especially during rough surf conditions.

Residents and visitors should prepare for rapid changes in visibility early Friday and plan weekend activities around the fluctuating weather.
