Tallahassee, FL – As the weekend approaches, Florida residents can expect dry weather despite a new tropical system forming in the Caribbean. Potential Tropical Cyclone (PTC) 15, currently situated in the western Caribbean, is projected to make landfall in Belize by Saturday but poses no threat to the United States.
According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), advisories have begun for PTC 15, which may develop into a short-lived tropical storm before it reaches Belize. No U.S. impacts are expected from this system, as it remains far south of the Gulf Coast. The storm is projected to dissipate after landfall, reducing the likelihood of severe weather extending into the Gulf.
For the Florida Panhandle, the weekend forecast remains largely clear, with dry conditions through Sunday. Residents along I-10 and throughout Tallahassee can expect mild temperatures, ranging from the upper 70s to low 80s, making for pleasant travel conditions. Winds will stay light, at around 5-10 mph, and no severe weather is anticipated.
Looking ahead to the five-day forecast, Monday through Wednesday will continue to see mild temperatures, with scattered showers developing midweek. As the Gulf remains quiet for now, residents are advised to monitor local weather updates and check for any potential changes in tropical activity.
