Alexandria, LA – The National Weather Service issued a series of flash flood warnings Saturday afternoon, alerting central Louisiana to dangerous flooding in multiple parishes. Significant rainfall, with amounts between 3 to 6 inches already fallen, continues to pose a severe threat in Rapides, Avoyelles, Caldwell, Grant, and La Salle Parishes.
According to the NWS, thunderstorms are likely to drop an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain in the area by the evening, potentially worsening conditions. Impacted locations include Alexandria, Pineville, Marksville, and other communities, with local law enforcement confirming reports of flash flooding along major roads and highways.
Residents are advised to avoid flooded areas and report conditions to emergency services when safe.
