Flagstaff, Ariz. – A few northern Arizona towns may catch a brief sprinkle today, but most residents will be feeling the heat as afternoon temperatures climb into the 90s and triple digits across the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, there’s a 28% chance of light rain around Flagstaff through late Tuesday, with similar odds in nearby cities like Show Low (20%), Heber-Overgaard (19%), and Payson (4%). Sprinkles could briefly dampen areas along I-17 and Highway 89, though most locations will remain dry.

Flagstaff will stay relatively cool with a high near 79°F, but farther south, Sedona (90°F), Camp Verde (95°F), and Phoenix (100°F) will see more intense heat. In western Arizona, Lake Havasu City is forecast to reach 101°F with no rain in sight.

Residents should hydrate frequently, avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat, and stay indoors if possible. While chances for rain remain low, isolated sprinkles could cause brief slick spots in higher elevations.

Expect warm, dry conditions to continue through midweek. The next significant weather update is expected Wednesday morning unless alerts are issued sooner.
