Denver, CO – Tuesday will bring mostly sunny skies across Colorado, but breezy conditions are expected in the northern mountains and plains this afternoon. Temperatures in the mountains and valleys will range from 60 to 75 degrees, while the urban corridors and plains will see highs in the 70s. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns that the combination of dry weather and increasing winds will elevate fire danger in the northern parts of the state.

According to the NWS Denver/Boulder office, the strongest winds will occur in the northern mountains, where gusts could reach up to 30 mph. The forecast indicates these conditions will persist throughout the afternoon and may continue through the week, with Red Flag Warnings potentially issued if conditions worsen.

Above-normal temperatures and dry air will heighten fire risks, especially in the northern and northeast regions of the state. While no rain is expected, the increasing wind speeds and dry vegetation create a critical fire weather situation through the weekend.
