Nashville, TN – Police are searching for a dark Toyota Tacoma involved in a fatal hit-and-run Monday night on Old Hickory Boulevard. A man riding an electric scooter died in the crash. Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
Police say the victim attempted to cross Old Hickory Boulevard near the I-24 interchange around 7 p.m. when the truck hit him. The impact trapped him under the vehicle. Witnesses saw sparks as the truck dragged the scooter over 900 feet before it dislodged near Firestone Parkway. The driver then fled toward Murfreesboro Pike.
Investigators believe the man had just left a Dollar General Store parking lot. He rode along the shoulder before entering the roadway.
