Las Vegas, NV – An Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for Las Vegas through Sunday as temperatures are expected to climb to 105°F over the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will see dangerous heat levels, with the warning extending until 8 p.m. Sunday evening. The extreme heat poses risks to both residents and visitors, especially those traveling along I-15 and other major roadways.
According to the National Weather Service, Saturday’s high will reach 105°F, while Sunday follows close behind at 104°F. Southwest winds will provide little relief, and overnight temperatures will remain in the upper 70s. Officials are advising the public to avoid outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and to drink plenty of water.
Those without access to air conditioning are encouraged to visit one of the city’s cooling centers. Travelers on I-15 should check vehicle fluids and have plenty of water on hand in case of roadside emergencies, as vehicle breakdowns are more common in extreme heat. With temperatures forecasted to remain high into next week, residents are urged to remain vigilant and monitor local weather updates for further advisories.
