Pahala, HI – A 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck near Pahala, Hawaii, early on Election Day, with hundreds reporting the tremor. The quake, recorded at 1:42 a.m. local time on Tuesday, was centered about 5 kilometers southwest of Pahala at a depth of 38.4 kilometers.

The U.S. Geological Survey noted that the quake caused moderate shaking across the region. Many residents shared their experiences through the USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” program, providing valuable data on the intensity and reach of the event.

Despite the shaking, no significant damage or injuries have been reported, and officials have confirmed that the tremor did not trigger any tsunami warnings.
