El Paso, Texas – Triple-digit temperatures return to West Texas Thursday, with El Paso expected to hit 102°F by mid-afternoon and no rain in sight.

According to the National Weather Service in El Paso, Thursday’s high will reach 102°F under sunny skies with west-northwest winds up to 8 mph. The region begins a prolonged stretch of intense heat that may last into next week, raising concerns for dehydration, heat exhaustion, and fire risk. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor work between 1 and 6 p.m., use sun protection, and stay inside cooled buildings when possible.

Thursday night will offer little relief, with lows near 75°F and light winds. Friday and Saturday bring more of the same — sunny skies and highs climbing to 103°F. The extended forecast shows no precipitation through Tuesday, June 16, and daytime highs will remain near or above 103°F. Winds will stay light but shift directions throughout the day and night, offering minimal cooling effect.

No heat advisories have been issued yet, but conditions meet early warning thresholds. Vulnerable groups should check local cooling centers and keep hydration a priority. Power outages aren’t expected but conserving energy during peak hours is encouraged.

Warnings may follow if this pattern intensifies.
