Spokane, Washington – Temperatures near freezing could damage sensitive plants in Moses Lake early Thursday, as a frost advisory takes effect overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, the advisory is in place from 12 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, April 24, with lows expected to hover between 32 and 35 degrees. Cold air settling across the Inland Northwest will put outdoor vegetation—especially early spring plants—at risk if not covered or brought indoors.
Residents in the Moses Lake area should protect gardens, potted plants, and any frost-sensitive vegetation Wednesday night. The chill follows a mild stretch of spring weather and could catch some gardeners off guard.
This advisory is the first significant frost risk for the region this month and could extend to surrounding areas in Grant County if temperatures dip further than expected.
The frost advisory expires at 9 a.m. Thursday, but cooler-than-normal mornings may persist into the weekend. Another update will be issued if a hard freeze threat develops.
