Columbus, OH – Residents in eastern Ohio are urged to prepare for potentially severe weather on Sunday, as thunderstorms with the potential for isolated tornadoes and large hail are expected. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Level 2 risk, indicating that a few storms could be significant.

The threat is expected to develop in the late afternoon and continue through the evening hours as a cold front pushes through the region. According to the NWS, storms will likely begin after 4 p.m., bringing damaging winds, hail, and the possibility of tornadoes.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local weather reports and have multiple ways to receive warnings, such as through smartphones or weather radios. “It’s crucial to be prepared and stay informed, as conditions can change quickly,” NWS officials advised.

In addition to isolated tornadoes, large hail could cause significant damage to property, particularly vehicles and homes without protection. Power outages are also possible due to high winds. Eastern Ohio residents should remain vigilant as the storm system moves through the area.
