Albany, NY – A Wind Advisory remains in effect through 4 p.m. Tuesday for eastern portions of New York’s Capital Region and western Massachusetts, including the Berkshires and Rensselaer Plateau. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Albany reports sustained winds between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph in some elevated areas.

According to the NWS, the strongest winds are expected across higher terrain and open areas, potentially making driving difficult for high-profile vehicles. Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects such as trash bins, patio furniture, and decorations to prevent them from being blown away.

Elsewhere across the region, conditions will remain breezy with a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day. Temperatures will reach the low 40s to mid-50s this afternoon, dropping into the upper 20s to mid-30s overnight.

Forecasters expect another round of gusty winds Wednesday, with a chance for rain and snow showers overnight into Thursday. By Thursday, skies will begin to clear, but cooler and windy weather will persist, with highs near 50 and lows around 30.

The NWS continues to monitor conditions and advises caution on the roads, particularly for truck and trailer drivers navigating open stretches and elevated highways.
