Paducah, KY – Residents across Paducah and the surrounding Quad State area should prepare for a rainy and stormy Sunday afternoon. The National Weather Service predicts widespread rain starting late Sunday morning, lingering into the night. With rainfall totals of 2–3 inches by Monday, localized flooding may develop in low-lying areas.

According to the US National Weather Service in Paducah, showers are expected to intensify after noon Sunday, with potential thunderstorms developing by the evening. Temperatures will remain unseasonably warm, reaching highs of 63°F, but roads, including major routes like I-24, could become slick as rain persists through Monday morning. Drivers should exercise caution during peak rainfall hours, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

Looking ahead, Monday brings a continuation of wet conditions, with scattered thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Cooler air will move in Monday night as the rain clears, dropping temperatures to the mid-30s. The region will enjoy sunny skies on Tuesday, with a high of 55°F, before another chance of showers arrives late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

By midweek, highs will hover around 53°F with partly cloudy skies. The relatively mild conditions provide a much-needed break after the rain-heavy weekend. Residents are advised to monitor weather updates for possible flood warnings and adjust travel plans accordingly.
