Jackson, KY – A warm and mostly dry Christmas week is in store for Eastern Kentucky, with only light rain possible at times. Residents can expect a mild Christmas Day with highs reaching between 49°F and 56°F, perfect for outdoor gatherings and travel.

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, light rain showers are possible north of Highway 80 early Tuesday morning and again on Christmas Day north of I-64. Otherwise, skies will remain mostly cloudy through midweek. Drivers should prepare for patchy fog Wednesday night, which may reduce visibility on major roadways, including I-64.

Looking ahead, temperatures will rise further, with Thursday seeing highs near 59°F under partly sunny skies. However, rain returns Friday afternoon, with a 40% chance of showers expected after 1 p.m. Evening travel may be affected as rain intensifies late Friday, continuing into the weekend.

The extended forecast predicts a 50% chance of rain Saturday, with highs near 66°F, followed by lingering showers into Sunday. If you have travel or outdoor plans, monitor updates and prepare for wet conditions toward the end of the week.

Stay tuned for the latest updates from the National Weather Service, and exercise caution while traveling during foggy or rainy conditions.
