Eastern Kentucky – After a warm and dry stretch, Eastern Kentucky will experience changing weather patterns as two cold fronts approach. The first front brings isolated thunderstorm chances on Saturday. Residents should prepare for increased storm activity throughout the day and into the overnight hours, especially near Highway 15. Temperatures will reach the upper 80s during the day, cooling to the mid-60s overnight.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, KY, a second, more powerful cold front is expected early next week, bringing widespread rainfall and thunderstorms by Tuesday. Rain chances will jump from 20% on Saturday to 45% on Monday, reaching 70% by Tuesday, with overnight storms also expected Monday and Tuesday.
