Little Rock, AR – Eastern Arkansas will see steady rain today, with some areas experiencing up to an inch of rainfall. Cooler temperatures will accompany the showers, with morning lows around 64°F and afternoon highs reaching 77°F. The heaviest rain is expected in the eastern part of the state, especially near West Memphis and Jonesboro, where roadways may become slick. Residents are encouraged to drive carefully and plan for delays during their morning and evening commutes.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will taper off by late evening, clearing the skies for a highly anticipated celestial event on Tuesday. A Supermoon eclipse is set to occur, with the partial lunar eclipse beginning at 8:41 p.m. EDT. The peak, when 8% of the Moon will be covered by Earth’s shadow, will occur at 10:44 p.m.

While rainfall today will impact visibility, weather conditions are expected to improve significantly by Tuesday evening. For those planning to view the eclipse, the best visibility will be in low-light areas with clear skies.
