Philadelphia, PA – Thunderstorms and steamy conditions are expected to roll across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware through Wednesday, pushing temperatures into the upper 80s in cities like Philadelphia, Wilmington, and Trenton.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, widespread showers are likely Tuesday morning through early afternoon, with rain chances topping 70% in Allentown, Hackettstown, and Toms River between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. Tuesday. Philadelphia has a 60% chance of rain around midday, potentially slowing commutes along I-95 and I-76.

By Wednesday, drier air returns, but high temperatures will stay in the low to mid-80s across much of the region. Mount Pocono is the exception, staying cooler in the low 70s. Meanwhile, highs in Wilmington and Reading could near 89°F by Thursday, marking one of the hottest stretches so far this June.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. Drivers should watch for wet roads Tuesday and secure any outdoor items that could be blown by gusty pre-storm winds.

Warmer, drier conditions are expected by Thursday, though scattered showers may return by Friday afternoon. More updates will be issued as the system evolves.
