East Central Florida – High temperatures and dry conditions are expected across East Central Florida today, with the mercury soaring into the low 90s in many areas, including Orlando and Leesburg. Local beaches, particularly those in the region’s coastal cities like Daytona Beach and Melbourne, continue to face a high risk of rip currents, making it unsafe for beachgoers to enter the surf.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in the interior will exceed seasonal norms, with Orlando and Sanford expected to hit 90°F, while Kissimmee may peak at 91°F. Meanwhile, coastal cities will see more moderate highs, with Daytona Beach at 82°F and Melbourne reaching 83°F.

The dry conditions are contributing to heightened fire weather risks, and residents should be cautious of outdoor activities that could spark fires. In addition to the high temperatures, the surf zone remains dangerous for swimmers due to the ongoing rip current risk, a warning that remains in effect through the weekend.

With warm, dry weather continuing throughout the weekend, the National Weather Service advises the public to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and avoid the surf. More updates are expected as conditions evolve.
