The storms are expected to develop after 1 p.m., lasting until 9 p.m. as the region faces gusty winds and occasional lightning strikes.

According to the National Weather Service, conditions will begin with isolated showers near the coast through 1 p.m. As the afternoon unfolds, sea breeze-driven showers and lightning storms will intensify. Wind gusts up to 40 mph are possible, with winds expected to pick up at speeds of 20-30 mph, particularly in the Orlando metro and areas to the east. The forecast high for today is in the low 90s for cities like Sanford, Daytona Beach, and Port St. Lucie.
