Duluth, Minnesota – Minnesota’s weekend weather is shaping up to be quiet and dry through Saturday, with rain and thunderstorms likely to develop by Sunday afternoon. However, a more intense weather threat is expected by Monday, when some areas may experience severe storms.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Duluth, tonight will see mostly clear skies with temperatures dipping between 28°F and 35°F. Areas like Duluth and Two Harbors can expect cool but relatively calm conditions. On Saturday, sunny skies will dominate, with highs reaching the mid-50s to low 60s, but near-critical fire weather conditions are anticipated in northern Minnesota due to dry conditions.

Looking ahead to Sunday, scattered thunderstorms are expected to arrive, bringing a 50% chance of rain and storms, with gusty winds and the potential for some hail. Monday poses an even greater concern, as a 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms could escalate into severe weather, with dangerous winds, hail, and heavy rain possible. The NWS is urging residents to monitor local weather updates as conditions evolve.

The severe weather threat is expected to last into Monday, with temperatures ranging from 35°F to 48°F. Stay tuned for updates and be prepared for rapidly changing conditions.
