San Francisco, CA – Residents are experiencing cooler-than-average temperatures and light drizzle, especially in the higher terrain. The region continues to see a significant drop in temperatures, remaining 5 to 15 degrees below the seasonal average.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in the Bay Area, drizzle was recorded Tuesday morning, with rain chances likely to return Wednesday. The current cool conditions will persist into the week, accompanied by partly cloudy skies. A gradual warm-up is expected as temperatures will rise into the mid-70s by the weekend.
As shown in the NWS precipitation map, various areas received light amounts of rain in the last six hours. Cities like San Mateo and Livermore experienced less than 0.1 inches of rain.
The weather outlook calls for highs in the low 60s through Thursday, followed by a sunny weekend. Residents should prepare for light jackets and umbrellas for any light rain but can expect warmer weather soon.
The cool streak is expected to break early next week with highs reaching 80 degrees by Monday.
