Fort Worth, Texas – North Texans should brace for sweltering heat and a slight chance of isolated severe storms Saturday evening, with temperatures climbing into the low to mid 90s and peak heat index values pushing past 100 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, afternoon highs will reach up to 96°F in Graham, 95°F in Killeen, and 93°F across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Waco, and Cisco. The heat index is expected to range between 95 and 102 degrees. A low chance—just 10 to 20 percent—of storms exists in the evening, primarily across northern counties.

The strongest potential for storms, including damaging winds and hail, centers near the Red River and parts of North Texas west of Sherman and Graham. While most locations will remain dry, any storm that develops could turn strong to severe quickly.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and monitor weather updates. Roads could become hazardous if evening storms strike, especially in areas with gusty winds.

This heat-and-storm pattern could shift into Sunday, with continued warm temperatures and isolated thunderstorm chances. Additional advisories may be issued if storm activity increases.
