Fort Worth, Texas – Heavy rain is drenching parts of Central Texas this Saturday, with flash flooding a growing concern from Killeen to Dallas-Fort Worth through at least 7 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, a Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. across much of Central Texas. Storms could drop 1 to 3 inches of rain in localized areas, especially around DFW, Waco, and Killeen. Isolated downpours may also impact areas like Sherman and Paris, though the flood risk there remains lower due to less recent rainfall.
Drivers should avoid low-lying roads and underpasses, particularly along I-35 and U.S. 84, where water can quickly accumulate. Areas marked as “scattered heavy rain” on radar are at higher risk for urban and street flooding, especially in low-drainage neighborhoods and near creeks.
If you have outdoor plans, stay weather aware and consider delaying activities until the storms pass. Emergency crews urge residents to never drive through flooded roads.
Showers may taper off tonight, but additional rainfall could develop again Sunday depending on storm movement.
