Fort Worth, TX – A line of potentially severe thunderstorms is expected to impact North and Central Texas Sunday afternoon into the evening, with cities including Dallas-Fort Worth, Sherman, and Palestine at heightened risk.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, storms are projected to form ahead of a cold front and dryline beginning after 2 p.m. Sunday. These storms will push eastward through the evening hours, bringing threats of large hail and damaging winds, particularly for areas east of Interstate 35.

The strongest activity is expected to impact communities from DFW to Palestine, with the highest risk window stretching from mid-afternoon through nightfall. While hail and wind remain the primary threats, isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out, depending on the front’s progression. Cities like Sherman, Waco, and Killeen are also within the severe weather zone.

Graham and Cisco are forecast to remain west of the strongest storms but face an elevated fire risk due to dry conditions and gusty winds.

Residents are urged to monitor weather alerts, secure outdoor items, and review safety plans. Ensure mobile devices are fully charged and equipped to receive warnings. Have multiple ways to receive weather updates as timing could shift.
